Fetzer's Own California Bay Leaf

California bay laurel. I hand select each leaf from our own old bay tree for perfection and health. This is not the Greek bay leaf (Laurus nobilis) commonly sold at the stores, but the harder to find California bay laurel (Umbellularia californica). If you have not cooked with this plant before, use about half as much as you do of storebought bay leaves in your recipe. Makes a perfect addition to lentils, beans, soups, stews, spaghetti, chilis and other savory dishes!

Directions: Start with a fresh natural turkey that is defrosted. Mix entire content of your Fetzer's Own Turkey Brine kit in a pan with one quart water. Boil for five minutes. Remove from heat, add 1 gallon water, and refrigerate until cold. Place turkey breast side down in brine bag, and cold brine mix, fill with cold water to cover. Refrigerate for 30 minutes PER pound .
Ingredients sea salt, spices, brown sugar, juniper berries, garlic, and sunflower oil.
